Robert Lawrence “Robbie” McIntyre, 23, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Halifax County, born August 13, 1987. He was loved by all and never met a stranger. Robbie was preceded in death by his materal grandmother, Nancy Fowler Hubbard; his paternal grandmother, Therese Odom Riggan; his grandfather, Roy Thurston Riggan; and his aunt, Tammy Hubbard Massey.

Robbie is survived by his mother, Kathy Riggan; his father Kenneth Riggan; his brother, Timothy Wayne McIntyre; his grandfather, Robert Hubbard, all of Roanoke Rapids; his cousins, Kristie and Eric Massey, both of Halifax; and many close friends.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, May 28, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at 1308 Hamilton Street, Roanoke Rapids. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 29, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dennis Joyner officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
